DVD News: According to different Web sources a release of "Show Boat" is on its way. It seems that Warner is planning a "Show Boat" box set including the first filming from 1929, Irene's film from 1936 and the version from the year 1951. The release date wasn't annouced yet but I'll keep track of this.

Irene on the big screen:

if you live in New York or will be around for a visit, on August 11th and 18th the MOMA is going to screen "Thirteen Women" (1932). Not exactly one of my favorite Dunne films but an interesting early representative of its genre. Additionally, I'd try to make the showing of "Frisco Jenny" a day later - another "Madame X" variation as vehicle for pre-code diva Ruth Chatterton under the direction of William Wellman.

Irene on the little screen:

It's again time for TCM's "Summer Under The Stars" and on August 24th it'll be Irene's turn. The schedule includes "Life With Father," "Show Boat," "Never A Dull Moment," "Symphony Of Six Million," and nine other films - full program.
